The currently tallest skyscraper in Japan has been completed. It is the Hazabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in Tokyo, which at 330 metres high and 64 storeys surpasses the previous record of the Abeno Harukas in Osaka (standing at 300 metres).
The completion of the skyscraper takes the Azabudai Hills project one step further. Started in 2019, it is a vast complex that is expected to be finally opened in the coming months, at least according to developer Mori Building Co.
The skyscraper, one of several buildings within the complex, will be a multipurpose facility housing offices, a university medical centre, shops, restaurants, hotel residences and the largest international school in central Tokyo.

The completion of the skyscraper takes the Azabudai Hills project one step further. Begun in 2019, it is a vast complex that is expected to finally be opened in the coming months, at least according to the plans of developer Mori Building Co.
The skyscraper, one of several buildings within the complex, will be a multipurpose facility housing offices, a university medical centre, shops, restaurants, hotel residences and the largest international school in central Tokyo.
The Azabudai Hills project covers an area of more than eight hectares and was designed with the aim of revitalising the neighbourhood in which it is located. Other facilities in the complex include a wellness centre, a fitness club, a museum and an art gallery.
The entire complex, which also houses Tokyo's tallest new skyscraper, will be able to accommodate around 20,000 employees and 3,500 residents. It is also estimated that the area could be visited by around 25-35 million people each year.
