The first Macintosh
Apple Computer featured his revolutionary personal computer Macintosh. It was the first successful PC that used a graphical user interface and mouse instead of the command line. Its technical characteristics revolutionized the computer industry in the mid-80s, maintaining the evolutionary line of development until today. The computer owes its name to a popular variety of apple, the McIntosh.

Presentazione
On January 24, 1984, the former CEO of Apple Steve Jobs presented the first Macintosh at the annual meeting of Apple shareholders in Cupertino. The first Macintosh, also called Macintosh 128K, was a personal computer based on a microprocessor Motorola 68000 and equipped with a memory of only 128 KB of RAM. The operating system was a simplified version of Macintosh OS. The Macintosh had a built-in full-screen monitor and a full keyboard with a trackball for navigation.

1984
The Macintosh was featured in a popular television commercial during Super Bowl in 1984 (January 22, 1984, during the third quarter of Super Bowl), titled "1984", which was directed by Ridley Scott and inspired by George Orwell's dystopian novel. "1984" uses the image of an anonymous heroine to symbolize the arrival on the market of the Apple Macintosh personal computer (a stylized representation of which can be found on the protagonist's white shirt) as a means of freeing humanity from conformism. It is now considered as a milestone in advertising cinematography.

Price and additional features
The first Macintosh had a retail list price of $2,495. Although the price was quite high for the time, about 70 thousand units were sold by May 1984. The entire system weighed almost 8 kilograms and contained native software for word and image processing. The mouse, an innovative pointing system, was offered as a feature to ensure comfortable interaction with the user interface. (In the photo on the left: rear view with connectors, in the photo on the right: the interior)
