Vincent van Gogh was one of the greatest painters in the history of art. Born in the Netherlands in 1853, he was one of the leading exponents of post-impressionism. 

His works are characterised by intense and rapid brushstrokes, vivid colours and a deep emotionality. Among his most famous works are 'Starry Night', 'The Sunflower Cycle' and 'The Bedroom'. 

Van Gogh had a difficult life, marked by psychological and social problems. He lived in poverty and loneliness, devoting himself completely to art, producing more than 2000 works. He died in 1890, aged just 37, leaving an artistic legacy that still inspires artists around the world.
