Italy's three greenest cities, eco-sustainability rankings

The 28th Ecosistema urbano report by Legambiente and Ambiente Italia has released the ranking of places considered best in terms of eco-sustainability. The ranking is based on 18 parameters grouped into five major areas: air, water, waste, mobility and environment. It is data for 2020 and takes into consideration 105 provincial capital cities. The ranking puts the greenest cities in order according to their environmental performance, and on the podium are Trento (84.7 percent), Reggio Emilia (77.8 percent) and Mantua (75.1 percent).

It is well known by now that the most polluted cities in Italy are Rome, Milan, Naples, Bologna and Florence. It is mainly fine particulate matter that is targeted.
