Elon Musk never stops giving birth to new ideas and new projects. Now the first images of the utopian city of Snailbrook, which the tycoon is having built at Texas, have been released.
The city, which will be located on the outskirts of Austin, will serve to house the employees from SpaceX and Boring, two of his companies, which Musk has decided to relocate from California.
Within the town of Snailbrook the Musk's employees will be able to rent houses for about $800 a month and will be able to benefit from all the services found in any other common town, such as a gym or a sports field.
Elon Musk's utopian city.
Elon Musk never stops giving birth to new ideas and new projects. Now the first images have been released of the utopian city of Snailbrook, which the tycoon is having built in Texas.
The city, which will be located on the outskirts of Austin (capital of the U.S. state of Texas), will be used to house the employees from SpaceX and Boring, two of its companies, which Musk has decided to move from California.
How much will it cost to live in one of Snailbrook's houses.
Within the city of Snailbrook Musk's employees will be able to rent houses for about $800 a month and will be able to benefit from all the services found in any other common city, such as a gym or a sports field but also a school. Inside there will of course also be the factories in which Musk employees will work.
It appears that the Snailbrook project envisions the construction of about 110 housing units and that the chosen location will also allow easy access to the Tesla factories. The city would also allow workers to benefit from lower rents than market averages.
When Henry Ford attempted a similar project...
Elon Musk is certainly not the first entrepreneur to have come up with a project such as Snailbrook. In the past Henry Ford had also thought of it, in 1928, when he had Ford-land built no less than in the Amazon rainforest. However, the project was a failure, partly due to the concerns of the Brazilian government.
