Removal of Orion capsule after joint NASA and U.S. Navy exercise

On Feb. 6 at Cape Canaveral (Florida) members of US Navy and the NASA landing and recovery team used a crane to remove a test version of the capsule Orion from the water.

This took place after the conduct of an exercise involving astronaut recovery.

This exercise (test) was conducted in preparation for the Artemis II mission , scheduled (but not certain) for 2024. The recovery team is conducting tests for when the spacecraft Orion crashes into the Pacific Ocean.
