A wonderful gold necklace has been discovered near the wreck of the Titanic
111 years after her dreadful sinking on that cold night of 15 April 1921, the Titanic, the largest and most opulent ocean liner ever built, continues to unearth wonderful artefacts and objects that belonged to her ill-fated passengers.
Unearthing the lost necklace was the work of the British company Magellan Ltd, which over the course of six weeks during the summer of 2022 conducted the most comprehensive and detailed mapping of the liner's wreckage.
Now, the mission of those who recovered the necklace is to locate the heirs of the owner and attempt to return the precious artefact, which is very reminiscent of the story of the 'Heart of the Ocean' imagined by James Cameron.

Titanic, gold necklace with megalodon tooth returns to surface
111 years after her dreadful shipwreck on that cold night of 15 April 1921, the Titanic, the largest and most opulent ocean liner ever built, continues to turn up marvellous artefacts and objects that belonged to her ill-fated passengers. Specifically, a beautiful gold necklace set in an incredible megalodon tooth has been found.
Who discovered the precious artifact
Unearthing the lost necklace were employees of the British company Magellan Ltd, which over the course of six weeks during the summer of 2022 conducted the most comprehensive and detailed mapping of the wreck of the ocean liner, which lies at a depth of 3800 metres about 600 kilometres south-east of the Canadian island of Newfoundland.
How the necklace is made
The necklace is truly unique as it was made around a megalodon tooth, which forms the pendant. The megalodon was a gigantic ancient shark that could exceed 15 metres in length; its teeth, sharp and up to 20 cm long, are fairly easy to find, and finds continue to fuel the legend that these animals may still be alive, deep in the abysses.
An amazing expedition (generic photo)
The images of this expedition were collected by means of small remotely operated submarines (ROVs) on which ultra-high resolution cameras were mounted, and immediately gained general attention for their spectacularity and comprehensiveness. Not only were the two stumps of the sunken ship captured in incredible overall views, but a great deal of detail was mapped, including that of the debris, which extends over an area of no less than 8 square kilometres around the 240 metre wreck.
A new mission
The discovery gains even more fascination as the filming company is intent on trying to return the necklace to the heirs of its rightful owner, whose death at sea or rescue is unknown. The power of artificial intelligence will be harnessed to find the owner, and footage from Titanic's opening night will also be analysed.
The Titanic
The RMS Titanic was a British Olympic-class liner that sank in the early hours of 15 April 1912, during its maiden voyage, due to a collision with an iceberg. This ship represented the pinnacle of naval technology of the time and was the largest and most luxurious bastion in the world. During her maiden voyage (from Southampton to New York, via Cherbourg and Queenstown) she had a collision with an iceberg at 23:40 (ship's time) on Sunday 14 April 1912.
More than 1,500 people lost their lives
In the shipwreck, 1518 people lost their lives, including crew members; only 705 people managed to survive, 6 of whom were saved among the people who ended up in the water. The event caused enormous public dismay and led to the birth of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, known as SOLAS.

Bees play a vital role in the ecosystem, pollinating plants and ensuring food production. Bees provide us with valuable products that have been used for millennia in both cooking and body care such as honey, pollen, royal jelly, propolis, wax, and even poison.
However, bees are threatened from many sources, including habitat loss, pesticide use and climate change.
It is important that we all take steps to protect bees and their environment.
In this photo gallery, we offer eight practical tips to save bees.

It may sound like a trivial question, but in fact it is not trivial at all; on the contrary, it holds within it very important physical and philosophical questions. The Washington Post noted that this question is stirring up some of the people on Twitter these days.
The debate was generated by a tweet from journalist Jacqui Deevoy, who wondered how it was possible that the sun had 'changed colour' from what she remembered as a child. The answer, however, is one that leaves one somewhat appalled, as there is no real unequivocal answer.
After all, children do not make a mistake by drawing the sun as a big yellow ball, but it is not a completely right answer. After all, light is just the perception of the wavelength of radiation emitted by the sun, and therein lies the whole secret.

Napoleon Bonaparte, often also referred to as Napoleon, was a French politician and general, founder of the First French Empire and protagonist of the first phase of contemporary European history, known as the 'Napoleonic Age'.
His conquests throughout Europe and beyond make him one of the finest military strategists ever, but his importance is not limited only to victories in the field. Also important were some campaigns, such as the one in Egypt, which returned priceless treasures to the world.
His life, studded with continual ups and downs, intrigues, murders and love affairs, ended in 1821 on the island of St Helena, in exile, due to stomach cancer. Although his life has filled the history books for over a century, some curiosities may still have escaped you.
