According to the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, this really could be the discovery of the century. Pictured is the location of the corridor inside the pyramid of Cheops, as shown during the press conference. More secrets about the pyramid of Cheops soon to be revealed?
The presence of the corridor that was discovered inside the pyramid of Cheops in Giza is also a mystery, the resolution of which could unlock further secrets of what is also known as the Great Pyramid. Helal told reporters at the press conference not to ask why the corridor was there because at the moment this detail would not even be known by archaeologists.

An identification that already took place in 2016
Other details unveiled so far by Helal include the fact that the corridor does not appear to have been finished. This 'void' had actually been spotted by Scan Pyramids in 2016 and was known to experts as 'Sp-Ncf' (Scanpyramids North Face Corridor). Only today, however, has its size, shape and location been revealed.
