Ancient Egyptian statues discovered in the necropolis of Saqqara

Discoveries continue in Gisr el-Mudir in Saqqara, Giza, Egypt.

The initial announcement by archaeologists was that a group of Old Kingdom tombs had been discovered, indicating that the site included a large cemetery. The most important tomb that has been discovered would belong to Khnumdjedef, supervisor of the nobles and priest in the pyramidal complex of Unas, the last king of the fifth dynasty.
